LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER

Since the inception of Rally4Reilly in 2017, there have been many positive changes. The support, both spiritually and financially, has been nothing less than amazing! Family, friends, businesses, and people that don’t even know Reilly have all helped make our two, annual Charity Golf Tournaments, as well as the GoFundMe page, so successful! Everyone who has touched our cause is responsible for the success! Through the many generous donations, Reilly’s parents have been able to purchase a medical van to help properly transport Reilly to his medical appointments, therapy, outings, and, of course, the park. This van has proven to be invaluable! Reilly’s parents have also able to purchase the very expensive airfare for Reilly to fly back to Boston for his specialized Spinal Surgery. At this time, it is too early to know the level of success from the surgery.

Reilly is home and still remains fully vent-dependent. He requires 24 hour care that is supplemented by specialized nurse care at home. Reilly has such an indomitable spirit and he continues to melt people’s hearts and bring smiles to our faces. He continues to have partial movement in his legs, feet, and hands, but unfortunately it is not consistent movement. We will continue to hope and pray for Reilly and his parents. Reilly is attending school two days a week and loving it! He is picked up at his home by a bus and Reilly and his nurse go to school and learn something new every day.

Our cause is unique in that we focus exclusively on children that have been affected by various types of spinal cord injuries (SCI). Our vision and goal is to expand our handprint to be able to reach out and assist other families who have children that have also been affected by an SCI. We want to provide love, comfort, and smiles to these kids, as well as inspiration! We plan on doing this by facilitating several types of services that may help out around the home, toys, crafts, stuffed animals and much more.

Through the research we have done to date, we are finding that these types of services and aid are extremely limited in San Diego to the families that truly could benefit from them. We want to help where we can. Through continued support we will be expanding our sponsorship base, which in turn will allow us to fulfill our much-needed goals for all of these special and loving kids!
